Poland has simultaneously sent the 2nd and 3rd payment applications from the National Recovery Plan (NRP) to the European Commission. The total amount of payments from these two applications will be greater than the previous one and may amount to more than PLN 40 billion (around €9.4 billion), including more than PLN 17.5 billion (€4.1 billion) as a grant and more than PLN 22.6 billion (€5.3 billion) as a loan. The money should reach Poland later this year.
I have just simultaneously signed two applications for payment from the NRP for a total of PLN 40 billion. We announced PLN 30 billion, but thanks to the enormous effort of all ministries and institutions which implement the NRP, we managed to fulfil the 41 stones provided for in the 2nd and 3rd application. Thanks to this we were able to apply for the maximum amount – said the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz.
There is a race going on in Europe for NRP investments. A race which we entered this year from last place. Within a few months, we have moved up nine places in this stakes. We have overtaken Sweden, Hungary, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, Finland, Austria and the Czech Republic. We are still far from the leaders such as France, Denmark or Italy, but with the pace that we have imposed on ourselves this year and with the rate of investments that we are implementing, we can expect that in the foreseeable future Poland – despite the 2-year delay – will continue to climb in this European classification and will soon jump to the first half of the ranking – said Deputy Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy Jan Szyszko.
The funds from the second and third applications for payment from the NRP will be earmarked for, among other things, Polish wind farms on the Baltic. Already in July this year, the European Commission approved support for the construction of an installation terminal for offshore wind farms in Gdańsk to the tune of PLN 900 million. The subsidy will be received by the Istrana company. The support will be provided as part of the National Recovery Plan.
In accordance with EU state aid rules, the EC has approved Polish support of approximately €194 million (PLN 900.45 million) for the construction of an offshore wind farm in the seaport of Gdansk – informed the press service.
It concerns the construction of an installation terminal for the construction of offshore wind farms. It will be an extension of the Baltic Hub container terminal into the Gulf of Gdansk. It will extend Poland’s area by 21 hectares.
In August, in turn, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of State Assets, which was one of the NRP’s milestones. This allows it to launch a loan programme for wind farm projects in the Baltic Sea.
The support provided by BGK will be realised from the National Recovery Plan in the form of the Offshore Wind Fund. The fund amounts to almost EUR 5 billion.
