The European Commission unveiled the programme and launched the registration for the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2025. Under the theme ‘Powering a fair and competitive green transition’ this year’s event gathers leading clean energy community voices along with the high-level speakers, such as Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen; Commissioner for Climate, Net Zero and Clean Growth Wopke Hoekstra; as well as prominent speakers from national and local governments, other international organisations such as International Energy Agency or NATO and representatives from business, academia and civil society.
8 April 2025
The main pillars of European Sustainable Energy Week 2025:
- The EUSEW Policy Conference runs over three days (10-12 June) and includes high-level segments as well as 60 policy sessions organised by the European Commission and energy stakeholders. These sessions will facilitate debates on clean, secure and efficient energy, focusing on new policy developments, best practices and sustainable energy ideas.
- The EUSEW Awards ceremony recognises outstanding individuals and projects in three categories: Innovation, Local Energy Action and Woman in Energy. With three finalists per category, the winners will be decided by a public vote held in May.
- A series of networking opportunities are available for both onsite and online participants to connect with other members of the sustainable energy community. The onsite participants can also benefit from an Energy Fair, which offers organisations and associations the opportunity to showcase their initiatives directly at the event.
- The European Youth Energy Day returns for the sixth time, introducing the next group of 30 Young Energy Ambassadors – ambitious young people involved in clean and just energy transition from across Europe, selected for a one-year programme from over 1300 applications received this year. The European Youth Energy Day will feature a policy session fully organised by the Young Energy Ambassadors, side events in the networking areas and closed-door workshops with energy experts. This part of the programme also creates multiple avenues for the younger EUSEW participants to share their experience and vision on how to transform Europe into the first climate-neutral continent. This aligns with the key priority for the current Commission of amplifying younger generations’ voices and their role in shaping EU policies.
- Dozens of locally-organised Sustainable Energy Days are also taking place around the world in the lead-up to and after the main event week.
