Vestas, a global leader in sustainable energy solutions, has released its interim report for the second quarter of 2025, revealing a solid financial performance marked by a significant increase in revenue and a return to profitability.

The company’s Q2 revenue grew by 14% year-over-year to reach €3.7 billion. This growth was accompanied by a notable improvement in profitability, with the EBIT margin before special items turning positive at 1.5%, a sharp increase from the (5.6%) reported in the same quarter of the previous year. As stated by Vestas CEO Henrik Andersen: “Vestas increased its revenue 14 percent year-on-year to EUR 3.7bn and achieved an EBIT margin of 1.5 percent in the second quarter of 2025, ensuring we remain on track for our 2025 outlook.”

Despite the strong financial results, the quarterly order intake for wind turbines was 2.0 GW, a decline from the previous year. Andersen attributed this to political uncertainty in key markets, particularly in the USA. However, the company’s total combined order backlog for wind turbines and service agreements continued to grow, reaching a record €67.3 billion, up €4.3 billion from the same period in 2024.

The company has maintained its full-year guidance for 2025, with revenue expected to be between €18 billion and €20 billion, and an EBIT margin of 4-7%.

The Polish thread in Vestas’s strategy

The report also highlights the growing importance of Poland in Vestas’s global operations. During the second quarter of 2025, the first V236-15.0 MW™ nacelle was assembled at the company’s Polish facility in Szczecin. Turbines of this type are a crucial part of the strategic Baltic Power project, Poland’s first offshore wind farm, which is being constructed in the Baltic Sea as a joint venture with Orlen and Northland Power.

The Baltic Power project exemplifies Vestas’s commitment to the development of offshore wind energy in Poland, and the 15 MW V236-15.0 MW™ turbines are among the largest in the world. Once operational, the investment is expected to provide clean energy to over 1.5 million Polish households.
