Wind turbine technicians, electrical engineers, dispatchers – these are just some of the positions for which PGE Baltica will be recruiting. The leader in the offshore wind business in Poland will assemble a team for its operations and service base in Ustka, which will service the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm. Approximately 100 people will be employed at the Ustka base.
– The start of the first recruitment process is another important step in the implementation of our plans to provide the region with a lasting economic boost. The operations and service base in Ustka will become the foundation for the development of services for offshore wind energy and a source of new opportunities for the local community. We will be recruiting not only crew for work at sea, but also for positions without which the base could not operate continuously. In addition to coordinators
and service team managers, these will also include administrative staff, warehouse staff and safety specialists. Several people will be responsible for the proper functioning of the onshore transformer station in Choczewo, whose operation will also be supervised from the base in Ustka, said Bartosz Fedurek, President of the Management Board of PGE Baltica.
The first offshore wind farm to be operated from the Ustka base will be Baltica 2, which is being built jointly by PGE and Ørsted. The partners have divided up the positions for which they will be recruiting for the Baltica 2 project. The two companies will conduct their recruitment schedules and activities independently of each other, but they inaugurated recruitment for the Ustka base with a joint meeting in Ustka. Out of a total pool of 100 positions, PGE Baltica is responsible for recruiting 40 people.
‘We encourage everyone to apply, regardless of their level of experience, including candidates from the Ustka General and Technical School Complex, with which we cooperate. For those without specialist knowledge, we have prepared specialist training packages related to, among other things, working at sea and at height,’ added the president of PGE Baltica.
First, PGE Baltica wants to select the best candidates for 9 wind turbine technician positions. Due to the need to undergo the required, more complex training, recruitment for offshore work begins earlier than for onshore positions. Further job offers will appear in January and February 2026, with the next recruitment process planned for the second half of the year. The announcements will be published on the website https://pgebaltica.pl/kariera.
PGE Baltica, part of the PGE Group, has a portfolio of eight location permits for the construction of offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea. The most advanced project is Baltica 2. PGE is building this 1.5 GW farm in partnership with Ørsted, and it is scheduled to start producing electricity in 2027. In Ustka, PGE Baltica is building an operational and service base, which will primarily serve the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm, but has the potential to serve other PGE offshore projects.
