Nordex Group has launched production at its new rotor blade manufacturing facility in Menemen, Izmir, Turkey. The plant began operations in May 2026 and forms part of the Hamburg-based turbine manufacturer’s expanding production network in a country where it already holds a market-leading position.

The facility covers a total area of around 130,000 square metres, with the production building accounting for approximately 90,000 square metres. Running four shifts around the clock at full capacity, the plant is designed to produce up to 1,200 rotor blades per year and employs roughly 1,200 staff in production and administration.

The Menemen factory will manufacture blades for Nordex’s latest turbine models, including the N163 and N175, which are designed for medium to high wind conditions. Production initially focuses on turbines awarded under Turkey’s YEKA-4 and YEKA-5 renewable energy tenders, while the facility is also positioned to supply European export markets.

“The production launch at our new rotor blade factory in Menemen marks another milestone in Nordex’s manufacturing network in Turkey and supports our long-term growth strategy in the country,” said José Luis Blanco, CEO of Nordex Group. “By expanding local production capacity, we not only support the development of the wind industry in Turkey but can better meet local content requirements under the YEKA specifications.”

Nordex has been active in Turkey since 2009 and has built a market share of around 34 per cent. The company has installed more than 64 GW of wind capacity across over 40 markets globally and reported group revenues of approximately €7.6 billion in 2025, employing more than 11,100 people worldwide.
