Føn Energy Services has signed a multi-year contract with Baltic Power for the delivery of integrated operations and maintenance (O&M) services at Poland’s first offshore wind farm.

The agreement, held through Føn Energy Services Poland and carrying extension options, covers an integrated Balance of Plant O&M programme for all of Baltic Power’s subsea assets, including foundations and cables. It spans inspection and corrective maintenance, project management and planning, vessel chartering, logistics, engineering and procurement, and adds an environmental survey scope to monitor marine growth and wildlife in the area. Føn Energy Services will be supported by local Polish suppliers.

Baltic Power, a joint venture between ORLEN and Northland Power, is the most advanced offshore wind project in Poland and the first to reach the construction phase. Located around 23 km off the coast near Choczewo and Łeba, the roughly 1.2 GW project will comprise 76 turbines of 15 MW each and is expected to generate up to 4 TWh a year, equivalent to about 3% of Poland’s electricity demand. It is scheduled to become operational in the second half of 2026.

The contract places further weight on local content. Polish firms are already engaged across the Baltic Power supply chain: offshore substation topsides were built in the Gdańsk and Gdynia shipyards, onshore cables came from Bydgoszcz, and parts of the foundations arrived from Żary and Niemodlin. Local content is expected to exceed 21% over the project’s lifetime, in line with the 20–30% range set for phase I projects under Poland’s offshore Sector Deal.

“The establishment of a supply chain for the operational and maintenance phase of Baltic Power has no precedent in the Polish energy sector,” said Maciej Stryjecki, chief executive of Baltic Power, pointing to a new O&M base under construction in Łeba.

Sindre Rhrich, chief executive of Føn Energy Services, said the contract marked an important step in building the company’s presence in the Polish offshore wind market. Independent since 2011 and part-owned by companies within Norway’s Aker group, Føn manages an O&M portfolio of more than 900 assets and has previously delivered services at the Moray West and Moray East wind farms in Scotland.
