Developer OX2 has completed the foundation works at its 40 MW Annopol wind farm in the Lublin region of eastern Poland, marking a key milestone before turbine assembly. Located across the municipalities of Annopol and Goscieradow, the project also has its substation transformer installed, and road works are now under way to allow the safe delivery and erection of the turbines, which is planned for the summer.
Annopol will consist of ten Vestas V136 turbines, each rated at 4 MW with a hub height of 150 metres. The farm is expected to generate around 155 GWh of electricity a year, enough to cover the consumption of roughly 80,000 households. OX2 is building it under an independent power producer model, meaning the company will keep the farm in its own portfolio after completion, and has signed a long-term power purchase agreement with Amazon for the output.
“Construction of the Annopol wind farm is proceeding according to schedule. Completing the foundation works is one of the key stages and an important step toward the start of turbine assembly,” said Tomasz Guzowski, President of OX2 Poland, who pointed to the project’s local dialogue and safety standards.
It is OX2’s second project in the county, following the Krasnik wind farm handed over in 2024. The company has also backed local initiatives in the area, from biodiversity work and a refurbished public kindergarten to support for volunteer fire brigades. Completion of the Annopol farm is planned for 2027.
The project is a reminder that, alongside the Baltic offshore push, onshore wind continues to expand across Poland’s inland regions, where liberalised siting rules and corporate offtake are bringing new megawatts onto the grid.
