Germany’s latest onshore wind auction was heavily oversubscribed, with clients of the purchasing group Routing Energy securing awards for 90.1 MW.

The Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has published the results of its onshore wind tender for the 1 May 2026 bidding round. Against a tendered volume of 2,495 MW, the agency received 628 bids totalling 6,409 MW — more than two and a half times the available capacity. The strong competition pushed award values down further: the average volume-weighted award value fell to 5.06 ct/kWh, from 5.54 ct/kWh in the previous round.

In that environment, clients of Husum-based Routing Energy secured awards for 13 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 90.1 MW.

“An early procurement strategy and strong manufacturer partnerships make an important contribution to the success of wind projects,” said Matthias Frauen, managing director of Routing Energy, pointing to the value of professional purchasing in a heavily oversubscribed round.

Routing Energy has acted as an independent partner for the procurement of wind turbines since 2010. Operating as a purchasing group, it bundles projects and volumes to secure framework agreements and to support developers and operators on technical, contractual and organisational questions. The company says it has brokered more than 560 wind turbines with an installed capacity of over 2 GW.

The result underlines the continued pressure in Germany’s onshore wind auctions, where repeated oversubscription is steadily lowering award prices.
